The fitness industry is truly crazy. I have been a compliant customer since I coerced my parents to purchase the HulkaMania Workout Cassettes, complete with a multi vitamin, sweat bands and grip strength device. It has been quite the journey since then.
Today I am ashamed to be part of an industry that promotes such garbage in the name of profit. I have grown incredibly cynical toward new diets, supplements, and training routines….to the point I don’t even like reading certain blogs anymore.
I admit to showing bias in many of my blog posts based on my beliefs at the time. Getting caught up in fitness dogma is quite scary and is definitely not healthy in the long run.
I am an advocate of the Paleo lifestyle, but it is not for everyone. I became so obssesed with meeting the demands of the paleo diet, that I would feel so guilty about deterring from it. The good news is that I am no longer practicing a strict Paleo Diet, but I feel as healthy as ever. This has lead me to reconsider what I promote on this site, and how I approach new data.
I plan to have an open mind, and report as honest as possible. Nutrition and fitness does not, and should not have a one size fits all solution. Each person is different, and needs to be responsible for exploration of their body and its needs.
I plan to write more often about a fitness lifestyle that supports each persons individual journey, rather than shoving the Paleo diet in everyones face!
