Fasting To Build Muscle: Men’s Health Said So…

Just a quick one here.

I know I have talked about the bennefits of intermittent fasting, and in my post “Is Intermittent Fasting Good For Us?” I sited a Men’s Health article that discussed it’s advantages.

Well, much to my delight, there is a new one!!

Check it out here

Best of all they site Brad Pilon, creator of EAT STOP EAT.  I think this is a step in the right direction that intermittent fasting is getting mainstream press

    Jordan,

Wow, I never thought I’d see an article like this in Men’s Health. I suppose fasting may actually be getting more recognition, but I’m not so sure about going mainstream as far as practice. I have my doubts as to whether this will ever happen simply because most people don’t have the discipline to go 12 hours without eating, let alone 24.

      Kelly,
I know you are doing a great job educating people about IF, so this article is definitely a step in the right direction!

      Alykhan,
I read another article a few years ago that mentioned it, but not much since that time. It is a great idea in theory, and in practice, but as far as people having the discipline to do it…I agree with you. All we can do is keep telling people how great it is, and maybe they will be more willing to try. The results from real people are quite impressive.

Thanks for sharing this. I’m an avid reader of the magazine but I didn’t see this article.

I have a feeling this might become a mainstream hit simple because it’s so easy. I mean “eat whatever you want” sounds rather appealing even with the 24hr fast.

    Good stuff.

    Sounds great !;-)
About time this was getting out there …
In my opinion short term fasting is one of the healthiest things you could ever do, and it only makes sense in the natural and healthful lifestyle set-up.

Then weight loss and even building some lean mass can be considered beneficial (and very welcome) side-effects! ;-)

Mark thanks for visiting the blog, and providing some insight!
I think we are all happy about this, but if we read the article in depth it still doesn’t provide a full endorsement of intermittent fasting. The entire industry is still hesitant to support it 100%, but progress is being made!

      Cheers,
